micPad (MIDI Pad)

 Concept:

The app is a MIDI Pad that is sensitive to finger velocity, which the app measures by referencing to finger touch noise on iPad. The user can play 3rd party instrument with velocity using “micPad”.

System requirements:

1. AUv3 host that has a flexible capability of MIDI routing & Panel resizing (AUM, Loopy Pro, etc.).

2.  It requires the use of iPad’s built-in microphone.

3. Headphone connected to iPad's built-in audio out.

Note:

1. Not compatible with headset (such as Apple’s EarPods) or audio interface (because the app requires iPad’s built-in microphone ) .

Usage:

Insert micPad into “audio effect” slot of Mic-in track and connect the micPad’s MIDI OUT to 3rd party instrument.

Scheme:

Mic in -> micPad (MIDI out) -> MIDI instrument

User interface:

There are 9 pads, 2 buttons and 1 slider.

Pads: each pad is freely assignable to any MIDI note number

Edit/Play button: edits pad’s MIDI note number. Press "Play" after editing.

MIC button: turn on or off mic-in capability (default: ON). If it is off, all pads always send the same velocity (64).

Trans slider: transposes MIDI note.

Preset File System:

At first make a new bank folder, in which you can save a preset file. And push "Save As" button.
